Ngenyilel Vocational Training Centre (formerly Kapkoi Village Polytechnic was started in the year 2012 by local Leaders and community with the assistance from CDF office. CDF Eldoret North assisted in provision of funds for building classrooms and administration block while the community members purchase the land. In the year 2014 and 2015 the County Government of Uasin Gishu provided continued support by providing funds for completion of classrooms and workshop. It also provided tools and equipment in the year 2017 and early 2018.

Since the inception of Ngenyilel Youth Polytechnic like any other Youth Polytechnic in Kenya was rebranded in 2014. The Youth Polytechnics were renamed as Vocational Training Centers (VTCs) and taken over as County Government Functions as per 2010 constitution. Therefore Ngenyilel VTC among others in Uasin Gishu County is under Uasin Gishu County Government Functions in the Department of Education,Youth, Gender, Culture, Sports and Social services.

Ngenyilel VTC is located in Uasin Gishu County, Turbo Sub-County, Ngenyilel ward, Ngenyilel location , Ngenyilel Sub Location and Kapkoi village. The physical location is in Kipkaren River shopping centre off Eldoret- Bungoma road approximately 6 km from the Kipkaren centre.

In order to achieve our objectives we strive to:

• Provide appropriate and quality vocational and technical training
• Equip trainees with relevant skills, knowledge and attitude for the labour market through industrial attachment, training on entrepreneurship skills.
• Develop trainees into productive, self-reliant and responsible citizens.
• Provide training which is responsive, to socio-economic community needs.
